  • 6 Dec 1933: Adultery, said to have been committed in Melbourne in 1931 and 1932, was alleged by Colin Coutts against Minnie Eleanor Coutts, known also as Meme Eleanor Coutts, and Frank McDougall was named as co-respondent. They were married, petitioner stated, in 1923, in England. In 1927 they separated, and he maintained her till December, 1929, when she went from this State to Victoria. Petitioner produced subsequent letters from respon dent and co-respondent. The former signed herself 'Minnie McDougall' and referred to the "insult" of his (petitioner's) photograph having been sent her, and co-respondent invited petitioner to meet him at Port Augusta (being the point halfway between their homes) and "have it out," in whatever way petitioner should choose. Later, petitioner discovered that a child had been born to respondent and co-respondent on December 3, 1931. A decree nisi was granted. Mr. F. Curran appeared for the petitioner.14
