Gene Luscombe described her husband in 1988 thus: “He really was the nicest man, to everybody. He had many friends and entertained a lot in his own home in Kew”. Rumour had persisted for many years that Luscombe was intensely shy and did most of his recording in the evening. “I would not say Len was a shy man, reserved yes, but a gentleman with a whimsical sense of humour”, recalled Gene.5 |
