  • 3 Feb 1943: Berwick Octogenarian Passes. MRS. EMILY HILLBRICK.
MOTHER of a family of eleven, all of whom are still living, and survived by 33 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, Mrs. Emily Hillbrick, of Edward street, Berwick, died at the fine old age of 82 on January 30. Ill health had been sapping her strength for some months' past but the end came as a sad blow to her 6 sons and 5 daughters.
The late Mrs. Hillbrick was born at Bass and was the daughter of the late James and Mary Leeson, of that district. At the age of 21 she married Julius Adolphus Hillbrick, who pre-deceased her some years ago. She has been a well known and respected resident of the Narre Warren districts for the past 61 years.
Many life-long friends joined the funeral cortege on Saturday as it left deceased's late residence for the Harkaway cemetery, and swelled the sad throng at the graveside Rev. E. Panelli officiated both at the home and the graveside.
There was a mass of floral tributes from all over the district. Messrs. H.. R., C., O. and A. Hillbrick and J. Franklyn acted as coffin-bearers, and the pall-bearers were Messrs. H. Wanke, S. and D. Smith, D. Hillbrick, F. Breen and S. Hillbrick.
    W. J. Garner and Son had charge of the funeral arrangements.3
