The bride looked charming in an ivory silk dress with chiffon and cream lace, and was wearing the usual wreath and veil, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet. She was given away by her father. Miss Jean Taylor, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid, and wore a stylish costume of cream voile. Mr Geo. Ambrose was best man. About 30 guests sat down to wedding breakfast at "Woodlands," the building being tastefully decorated for the occasion. About 70 guests were subsequently entertained in Strathewen Hall, where dancing, singing, &c. to excellent music discoursed by Mr W. G. Horne, of Kinglake, kept all going merrily until the wee small hours of the morning. There were a number of useful and valuable presents.5 |
