  • 17 Nov 1948: MR. WILLIAM JOHN MAU, Of Harkaway, but formerly of the Princes Highway, Berwick, who passed on at the D. and D. Hospital, on November 11th, at the age of 61, was born at
    Black Flat (now Mulgrave). He was the son of the late William Frederick and Johanna Mau and was a gardener.
    A widower, he is survived by his sister, Lily, of Princes Highway, Berwick, and many friends in that district share her sadness at her brother’s passing. The funeral, a private one, took place at Burwood on Friday, Rev. Fr. Gleeson, of Box Hill, offering up the prayers at the graveside. W. J. Garnar and Son had charge of the funeral arrangements.8
