THE Friends of the late Mr. WILLIAM KNAPTON, contractor, of High-street, St. Kilda, and late of Port Melbourne, are respectfully invited to follow his remains to the place of interment, St. Kilda General Cemetery.
The funeral will move from his late residence, Pomona, Alexandra-street, East St. Kilda, on Thursday, the 7th inst., at 3 o'clock.

  • 6 Dec 1889: William Knapton, late of Alexander-street, East St. Kilda, contractor, by his will dated August 2, 1887, appointed James Flett Neville, architect, of Kerford-road, South Melbourne, and John Knapton, printer, of Little Collins-street, Melbourne, executors.
    He bequeathed all his estate, both real and personal, unto his wife, Ellen Knapton, for life. After her death he directs that his estate should be disposed of as follows : To each of his two sons, Samuel and John, £100 ; to each of his daughters, Emily Watson and Ellen Knapton, £100 ; to each of his step-sons, William and Flett Neville, £100 ; to his step-daughter, Alice Slater, £100 ; and if any surplus remains over this it is to be equally divided amongst the above named and his step-son, George Neville. He directed that his business should be carried on during the life time of his wife, and at her death his stepson, James Flett Neville, is to have the option of purchasing it for £100. The estate was sworn at £1900 real and £847 personal. Total, £2747.10
