  • 17 Sep 1921: Mr. Harold John Robinson to Miss Cassie Dewar Ferguson. A pretty wedding took place at Christ Church, Acland street, St. Kilda, on Saturday, August 6, when Mr. Harold John (Rob.) Robinson, youngest son of the late Mr. Robinson, of Singapore, and Mrs. Robinson, of Malvern, was married to Miss Cassie Dewar Ferguson, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Dewar Ferguson, "Wolda," Punt Hill, South Yarra. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Pennicott, and the Wedding March was played. The church was beautifully decorated with white flowers and gum foliage, and at the altar, where the bride and bridegroom knelt, was suspended a wedding-bell, surmounted with their initials.
The bride was given away by her mother. Her charming long-waisted frock of ivory charmeuse had a tunic of beautiful hand-made Belgian lace. A pointed train of charmeuse, ornamented with shell pink and silver hand-made flowers, hung from the shoulders and a pretty veil was secured by a circlet of oramge blossom. She also wore a solitaire diamond ring (the gift of the bridegroom) and a golden horseshoe from her grandmother's golden wedding cake. A bouquet of old gold flowers and orchids was the compliment.
Miss Joy Ferguson (sister of bride) was bridesmaid. She wore a dainty frock of powder-blue crepe de chime, and wore the bridegroom's gift, a diamond pendant. Little Peggy McLean carried the wedding ring in the heart of a pink and silver hand-made rose. Her pretty little frock was of accordion-pleated shell-pink crepe de chine, and her tulle cap was finished with blue, pink and helio streamers. The bridegroom presented her with a gold Nellie Stewart bangle. Mr. Howie was best man.
A reception was held at the Gregory Hall, Windsor, which was artistically decorated with Iceland poppies and vari-coloured balloons.
The bride and bridegroom motored to the Lakes Entrance. The bride travelled in a smartly-tailored costume of oyster grey tricotine, and a nigger hat with posies, and a lace veil.8
  • 8 Nov 1928: INSULTING WORDS TO CONSTABLE.
Harold John Robinson, commercial traveller, of Bosisto-street, Richmond, was charged at the St. Kilda Court on Wednesday with having used insulting words at St. Kilda Junction on September 28.
Frederick Charles London, taxi-cab driver, said:— There was a slight collision at the St. Kilda Junction between my cab and Robinson's car. Robinson called to Constable Erickson, who was on point duty, to come over and take my name. The constable did so. Robinson became very excited, and told Constable Erickson that he was a "mug policeman" and not a policeman's bootlace.
Constable Erickson gave similar evidence. Robinson was fined £2, with £1/5/ costs.
    The case was heard by Mr T. B. Wade, P.M., and Messrs. W. J. Young, M. Isaacs, G. Skurrie, and J. P. Wilson, J. P.'s.9
