  • 12 Mar 1935: OBITUARY. Mr. James Edward Loveridge, who for many years was a leading business man in Melbourne, died in a private hospital yesterday. He was aged 71 years. Born in Adelaide, Mr. Loveridge at an early age visited England, where he was educated. He returned to Australia and was employed by the firm of George and George. Later he became associated with the firm of Barry, Ostler, and Shepherd, linoleum manufacturers, of Kirkcaldy, Scotland, and he represented the firm in Melbourne for 30 years. After his retirement, he lived at his beautiful home, which is at the summit of a high hill overlooking the ocean and the township of Anglesea.
    Mr. Loveridge leaves a widow. There will be a private cremation to-day at the Crematorium, Fawkner Cemetery. Messrs. Le Pine and Son are making the arragements.3

  • 13 Jun 1941: Nonagenarian Killed By Train
    William Henry Loveridge, 93. of Maitland terrace, Seacliff, was killed yesterday afternoon when he was struck by train at the Maitland terrace railway crossing. His body was taken to the city by the train crew. Constable Shinway of Seacliff, investigated and will submit a report to the Acting City Coroner (Mr. G. Ziesing).10
  • 30 Aug 1941: LOVERIDGE.—On the 27th of August, at Adelaide, Hubert Ladler, eldest son of the late William Henry Loveridge, aged 63 years, formerly of Broken Hill.11

  • 16 Dec 1937: OBITUARY LATE GEORGE J. LOVERIDGE.
    An old aud respected resident of the Wagin District passed away on Monday, 6th December, in the person of Mr. George John Loveridge, at the advanced age of 88 years. Born in England in 1849, the son of William Loveridge, he left that country for Australia in 1858, and lived at Gawler (South Australia), until 1892, where he was storekeeping in partnership with his brother, W. H. Loveridge, now of Adelaide. He came to Western Australia as storekeeper for the Jarrahdale Timber Coy. in 1892, and resided at Jarrahdale until 1896. He then moved to Fremantle and engaged in business as a Produce merchant until 1900, when he returned to S.A. and resided on his farm at Williamstown until 1902, in which year he again came West to take up the position of Chief Railway Storekeeper under the then Commissioner (W. J. George). In 1908 he took up land near Ballaying, where he lived until the time of his death, excepting for a period of some years when he was employed by Malcolm & Co., in charge of their Nippering Store.
    One brother in Adelaide and one sister in England, and four Sons and three Daughters, survive him. There are also 25 grand-children and fifteen great-grandchildren.
    The funeral took place on Tuesday, December 7th, leaving his late residence at 2.15 p.m. for the Nippering Cemetery, where a large number of friends gathered to pay their last respects. Archdeacon Burbidge, of Wagin, conducted the services. The Pall Bearers were Messrs. J.
    F. Murdoch, C. S. West, H. Smith, C. Farrow, A. J. Nalder, W. Height, and W. Painter.
