  • 10 Dec 1937: The death occurred at Albury District Hospital on Tuesday of Mr. Arthur Ashcroft, of Albury, after a short illness. He was aged 35 years, and with his wife for several years conducted the Cake Kitchen in Dean street. Lately he was employed by the Riverina Steam Laundry. He was a resident of the district for 14 years. A native of Preston, England, Mr. Ashcroft was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ashcroft, of Bell-street, Coburg. He is survived by his widow, parents and five brothers and two sisters, one having predeceased him. Interment took place on Wednesday at Fawkner cemetery, Melbourne.2
