  • 5 Dec 1918: LATE MRS CATHERINE KENNEDY. It is with sincere regret we have to announce the death of Mrs Catherine Kennedy, of 'Fairview,' Pakenham East, the sad event occurring on Tuesday, November 12th. The deceased, who was 64 years of age, had been ill for some weeks, and death resulted from a general break-up of the constitution. She was a native of County Armagh, Ireland, and lived for a number of years in Pakenham, where the memory of her late husband, Mr Patrick Kennedy, is ever green. She was possessed of a kindly and generous disposition, and was greatly respected by all who knew her. She leaves a large family of grown-up sons and daughters to mourn their loss. The funeral, which took place on the 14th inst. at the Pakenham Cemetery, was largely attended, and a noticeable feature of the gathering was its representatives character, people of all creeds and classes being present.
